ISC members recently gathered for a warm and memorable afternoon at the home of one of our own members, where tea, shared treats, and good conversation set the tone for a lovely time together. The setting could not have been more inviting. Her garden was in full bloom, filled with a wide variety of flowers, plants, colours, textures, and scents that gave everyone something to admire. Members wandered, chatted, and paused to appreciate the care and beauty surrounding them before settling in to learn more about the power of positive affirmations. Together, we explored how affirmations can shape attention, mindset, neural pathways, and behaviour, with ideas drawn from neuroscience and everyday experience. Just as a garden needs patience, light, water, and care, our thoughts also benefit from gentle attention. One affirmation will not change everything overnight, but repeated with sincerity, it can help plant a healthier pattern. The afternoon was a beautiful mix of friendship, nature, learning, and reflection. Members brought desserts and snacks to share, enjoyed tea among the flowers, and left with pleasant memories.
